A seven month old Terrier was stolen from its family this week and tortured, mutilated and killed by two men. Police found a video on one of their mobile phones of the attack.

This has been described as one of the worst cases of animal abuse ever brought before the courts in Australian history. The men used garden shears and a pocket knife to cut off the puppy’s nose, one front and one back leg and then they decapitated it. The dog can be heard yelping and howling in the graphic video as it gets hacked to bits.

I understand that people in the country have a much different attitude towards animals than to people in the suburbs/city, and alot of things that happen in the country city people would hate. BUT WHAT THE FUCK. This is a weak, beyond cruel attack on a helpless animal by two fuckheads trying to feel big about themselves. Garden shears??? Can you imagine that happening to your dog? The stole it from a family. Imagine how they are feeling. I know I would go kill them if they did it to my dog.

And the worst part in all this? The maximum sentence these two cunts of human beings will receive is 2 years.  What if they cut off a persons nose and legs with garden shears? If they did it to a puppy theres nothing to say they wouldn’t do it to a baby. And they will get away with 2 years maximum, a sentence which has never even been handed out to animal abusers. The maximum anyone has received for an animal cruelty charge is 4 months.

The lesson in this? HARSHER PENALTIES FOR ABUSERS OF ANIMALS. This stuff is disgusting, there’s absolutely no sense in it, it’s only done by dickheads trying to feel big and strong. They would never ever try and take on anything their own size, only weak and helpless creatures. According to the RSPCA animal abuse is on a constant and alarming rise. So why is the government allowing them to get away with it with a slap on the wrist?

People have to know that this is wrong. All the senior officers and everyone else who saw that video were shocked and visibly shaken as you would be. This has affected so many people, most of all the poor family who owned it.

So we need harsher penalties for animal abusers and more media spotlight on the issue to force the government to take action. After all, these sort of attacks just relfect what our society has become, and therefore it’s everyones problem.
